課程目標
  1. Students will conduct and participate in a "Model United Nations General Assembly" session. The activity is designed to acquaint students with issues in international relations and the structure, aims, and procedures the United Nations uses to resolve disputes between nations. Students will research and write arguments and counterarguments to facilitate debates.

  2. Students will be able to justify the purpose of the United Nations, analyze current and past issues pertaining to the United Nations, research and discuss current issues in international relations, as well as develop fair compromises with their peers.

  3. Students should be able to understand the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, their purposes, their relation to our lives, and how they affect our communities. They should also be able to implement discussions from different perspectives as representatives of different countries.  

  4. Students should acquire the ability to do research with/without collaboration with other people.  

  5. Students should acquire the ability to compose a position paper with/without collaboration with other students.   

  6. Students should acquire the ability to compose a drafted resolution with/without collaboration with other students.

  7. Students should acquire the ability to lobby with other students.

Students should acquire basic international etiquette skills.

教學資源
During class times, students will be sorted into groups where they will be given topics to speak about. They will need to have access to the internet with laptops to be able to do research on the designated topics.
作業設計
Students will give two monthly group presentations on news topics, complete four worksheets per semester, write a group position paper, and deliver midterm and final presentations.
